Apolipoprotein B, or ApoB for short, is a structural protein found in LDL particles. If ApoB gets oxidized or modified, it can drive the formation of atherosclerotic plaques in blood vessels. As a result, high ApoB levels are directly linked to an increased risk of atherosclerosis. However, dietary strategies, pharmaceuticals, and some supplements may reduce ApoB levels. In this Aliquot – a follow-up to Aliquot #81 – Dr. Peter Attia and I talk about some of the nutritional, pharmaceutical, and supplemental approaches to reduce ApoB.
Aliquot episodes make great companion listening for a long drive. You can find these special members-only episodes alongside live recorded Q&As on The Aliquot, our official premium FoundMyFitness podcast.
