The capsaicin alone did not prevent cancer (and even slightly accelerated it) while the 6-gingerol alone prevented cancer in 50% of the animals. 6-gingerol has been shown to potently suppress inflammatory pathways such as TNF-α.
I suspect a good source would be ginger essential oil instead of just ginger. Might be useful to add a drop or two daily to say, coffee, or tea, etc.
Can someone confirm whether 6-gingerol found in ginger essential oil in a more concentrated form than just the root?
