I have the same question: How much of this smoothy do you drink each day?

This recipe is for how many servings and what is the serving size?

I recently read that collagen ‘melts’ and becomes basically gelatin at temps above body temperature, so drinking it in coffee is not recommended. Same with things called collagen peptides. That they have been ‘melted’ as well, rendering them useless. Is this true? I have been using physician’s choice collagen peptides type I and III in my coffee for a year. Was it a waste?

I’ve heard raw spinach & chard have too many oxalates? Is raw kale bad for those with thyroid issues?

Hi. Can you suggest alternatives to apples and avocadoes. I have trouble digesting these fruites. Also are there other types of greens with similar value to the rainbow chard greens? These are hard to get where I live. Thanks

Hello, Any chance of finding out what the shelf life of this smoothie is? Can I make a batch and refrigerate it for use the following day? Thanks!

Question Dr. Rhonda Patrick can you suggest a Collagen supplement or attributes of a supplement one might consider? Organic?

                  1. 1

Hi @Ronda, are you going to post an update on your daily smoothie? Would be great to see what has changed in recent years

Hi Dr. Rhonda Patrick! Thanks for the info :) … What do you think of using kefir in smoothies instead of water? also, is there any difference when using fresh/frozen kale/spinach?

Thanks for all the incredible information! I’ve been incorporating this smoothie into my diet for a week now and feel great when I have it! The challenge I have is I get almost vomit inducing painful gas/bloating when I eat fiber. Despite this, knowing the overall benefits of veggies/fruit I have been incorporating them for years. Is it normal to experience this? I really would like to eat healthy without the pain - sometimes it interferes with work because of the pain. Any insights would be very appreciative. Thanks again for all your work, the information you provide is amazing!

Dr. RP! I’ve flirted w/ veganism for the last 7 months. I feel great but I see that that skin is starting to loose elasticity. If this is happening on outside, telling what is happening inside? (I’m female 55+ athlete that needs to recovery daily from swim/bike/run/weights in schedule) Is there a similar vegan product that you know of or enlightenment you can provide?

                          1. 1

You should check out Denise Minger’s work. She has an excellent (and super in-depth) blog, where she talks about nutrition, including her previous experience with veganism (start here: https://deniseminger.com/for-vegans/). I think you’d find it very useful. Her book is also an excellent read, one of my favourite food science books.

I have heard that hydrolysed collagen can be damaged by too much agitation in a blender. Anything to worry about?

                            1. 1

Then just add it to the glass of smoothie afterward.
