Hi Ronda, could You recomend Your brand of omega 3. I’m living in Europe so this brand You mention in the podcast is available here?
Amazing episode! My husband and I recently found your site through listening to Joe Rogan, and now I am hooked! I know that you had a beautiful baby this past year, and that you breastfeed. My little one is now 14 months, and I have breastfed him since birth. He is quite done with the process now and refuses to feed from me, and so I am trying to gather as much information on my next steps/options as possible. I was wondering what you intend to do/use once you are done breastfeeding?
This was an excellent episode! I sent a link to my daughter who had a baby about the same time as you.Today, I have been looking through all of your interviews on sulfurathanes and broccoli sprouts (again) trying to find the one where you show your 6 jar method. Do you know which video shows this? I enjoy seeing the videos again but now that I have the jars, screens and seeds I want to review the episode but I can’t find it.
Hi Rhonda, I just wanted to ask quickly about protein increasing the IGF-1 in our bodies, is that the same for all proteins or is it only animalprotein that increases the IGF-1? Many thanks from Sweden :)
P.S Is there anywhere I can find the sources of the studies/sources that you cite during the podcast? Perticularly the one where they had studied 400000 people(i think) regarding eating meat. Where the conclusion was that if you had bad life habbits(smokeing/obese/eating refined sugar etc) was the determening factor rather than the meat itself. Would love to read up on these things. Thanks again.
Tongue & Lip Tie: Please talk to Dr Bobby Ghaheri about this issue. He seems to be the nation’s expert on this. There are other issues with tongue tied baby’s that can show up later in life… TMJ, migraines, head/neck tightness, sleep apnea, chiropractic adjustments that won’t hold, etc.
It also improves the latch so there is no/lesser pain in breastfeeding thus a happier momma and healthier baby.
What are your thoughts on Broc Sprout 2 for sulforaphane?
Excellent podcast! What are your thoughts about coffee and pregnancy? I limit myself to a few sips during the day or before a workout. i am 5 months pregnant. But have you done any research on this topic?
Do you have any recommendations for improving pelvic floor strength?
I saw that now Joe is doing sauna daily, what are the benifits of sauna? And compared to the “turkish bath” (also called wet sauna), which one is better?
Love you guys ! great podcast ! nice work :)
Hi, I`d really appreciate your answer. About broccoli sprouts, are there any side efects if I consume like 100 grams every day in my smoothie ? Could this lead to a vitamin overdose or tiroid problems ? Or any other side effects ?
Thoughts on the effectiveness of Elysium’s NAD+ product Basis?
The fact that Basis was used in the recent randomized controlled trial published in Nature showing that it increased plasma NAD+ levels in a dose-dependent manner suggests that it is effective at raising NAD+ levels in the plasma. This does not necessarily suggest that other brands are, strictly speaking, in any way inferior… but the fact that they have data showing the effectiveness of raising NAD+ levels published in a top-notch science journal is definitely a quality signal in my mind.
Thank you for responding and the link to the trial!!!
I was very excited about the phospholipid DHA that you spoke about. I ordered the salmon roe from Vital Choice. I am assuming it is safe to eat it raw, while pregnant? You said that you ate it with avocado, but you did not mention cooking it. I read an article that said if eating salmon roe while pregnant, it should be cooked or pasteurized. I trust the sourcing of Vital Choice in terms of the safety of the product. I did not order Ikura at the Japanese restaurant where the sourcing is unknown. Let me know your thoughts on the raw aspect. Thanks!
The concern with sushi is that, because it is raw, it can have parasites. In contrast, ikura arrives frozen, which tends to kill parasites. For that reason, I personally felt it was relatively safe and did eat it raw.
Thanks! I’m eating it right now with avocado and lemon :)
Hi Rhonda. Big admirer of your great work. Can you please reference the studies you refer to on the correlation between artificial sweeteners and their effect on gut micro-biome and causing obesity? I have scoured the internet and have found several studies but the evidence from the studies appears to be fairly inconclusive…
Also,( based on my biased anecdotal evidence, lol) I have had extreme success with weight loss and management by substituting sugary foods and drinks with artificial sweeteners. Am I an anomaly!?
Here’s some of what you might be looking for…
Do you know the approximate time for that part of the conversation? I’d love to add the studies to the timeline. Of course, in no way did I mean to imply that it is strictly impossible to lose weight while consuming artificial sweeteners. Congratulations on your success!
Sorry Rhonda, I can’t recall the approximate time! Thanks for the links to the studies. Very interesting.
So , would you say that I happen to be one of the “lucky” individuals who is not affected by this or is it something you suspect will eventually have a negative impact? Is there a way one can test the health of their gut bacteria?!
This was a very good podcast. Also, here’s a quick note to say us AncestryDNA users are looking forward to support on FMF Genetics! Any news on that front?
We’re making great headway on this and expect it to be ready soon. Weeks, not months!
Awesome – glad to hear it. Thanks for your efforts.
Great episode! Especially relevant to me now as my wife is pregnant. I 2nd the PQQ question and also wanted to know if you’ve done an episode/spoken anywhere else specifically about pregnancy topics?
I have only talked about it in some of the crowdcast Q and A sessions I have done recently. I’m going to be posting a podcast and article on pregnancy soon.
Can you give me more information on taking pqq while I am breastfeeding. I am looking to start taking it and just wanted to make sure it’s safe. I love this episode.
PQQ is found in substantial concentrations in human breast milk. I have not found supplementation studies in nursing mothers. I linked the clinical studies that have shown it is safe and effective in reducing inflammation, increasing mitochondrial function, and improving memory in the timeline. There have been animal studies investigating some effects of PQQ supplementation on lactating animals. For example, it has been shown to protect offspring from Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) @robertsipe
