I have Familial hypercholesterolemia. My mother has this as well and is on statins (further confirmed by genetic profile). I was prescribed Lipator, but am hesitant to use it. I have a very healthy lifestyle; I run 6 days a week for about 45 minutes and do weight training 3 times a week, and I never eat fast food. I avoid trans fats, and I think I have a good diet. My “good” cholesterol is high, triglycerides are low, but my lipoprotein count is very high. I don’t really know what to do… take the statins? Just keep on with my healthy lifestyle?
