A small study found hot yoga 3 times a week for 3 months lowered blood pressure in people with high blood pressure. Larger studies need to confirm but these results are in line with several studies that have shown sauna use lowers blood pressure.
This study was too small to draw any conclusions but several people have asked me if hot yoga has similar effects as the sauna on heart health. This preliminary study suggests that it may have similar effects which is not surprising.
